Interesting earth colour Robert, I’ve not used Mars red or orange for some time.
I believe it’s transparent so might be useful to capture evening skies! I might even give it a go…
So, let’s see the next stage and I’ll make some constructive observations, assuming that is what you’re after - or maybe you’re not!

Always interested in your comments, Alan. Because I invariably agree with them.
I like Mars Orange (and Red, and Yellow, and even Violet and Brown) because it's warm; a definite colour, as it were, not a pastel one; and because it's a very quick drier. Used thinly, it is indeed transparent, but has great strength in mass-tone. Burnt Sienna would have been just as good, it's just a personal preference, really. I also like to use colours which few paint-makers offer - Daler-Rowney Artists' quality oil, on this occasion.
This company - and this specific product, not so much their lower grades of cheaper paint - is an old favourite of mine; I don't suppose it's a British company any more (do we have ANY left?) but it offers consistent standards - not a great website when I last looked, though.

Was Pip Seymour until a few years ago when he joined forces with Rebecca Wallace who I believe was his marketing director.
I’ve not tried their oils but I’ve got a set of Turner 18C watercolours. These are hand-made ‘round cakes’ from authentic materials sourced from around the globe. Fabulous colours inspired by Turner’s palette.
They aren’t cheap but worth every penny… some colours are literally as hard as rock, warm water does the trick!
