The face alone conveys his plight, heightened by just the suggestion of shoes. Perhaps he is wondering what a new pair would feel like.   Job done, I think.

I’ve come to the stage of walking away for a few days and having another look.  I need to look at the subtle tonal various over the whole picture, to make sure the fave and perhaps hands stand out from the rest.  Many thanks for all your encouraging comments.
