I'm trying to upload images of my work in progress. The images I've selected appear rotated 90 degrees to the left. Any advice?
Hi Oke, I have this problem when using my PC, but don't have any problems putting images on the site from my phone. What I did on the computer was downloaded a free photo editor, put the image in that, I don't make any changes I just transfer the image then save it. It comes on the site the right way around. I'm sure other people will have helpful advice.
This happens often - Sylvia Evans had an answer, Denise's is probably along similar lines.  Using a pc, I've never had this issue, but those using phones and trying to upload images directly from them frequently do.   Denise's solution should work, but there are other answers to this old problem on various threads - I haven't the time to search through and find them just now, but delving into them yourself might turn up some useful tips.  Good luck!
You can fix this problem in the POL gallery.  Simply upload the image any way it wants to be, then click on the edit button for that image.  There are 2 buttons under the image, Rotate Left and Rotate Right, use the appropriate button to correct the image and then click on the Update image at the bottom of the page.  Job done!

Thanks Denise. That worked, thanks also Robert. So I've been working on this image of a friends house for ages. I think it needs something. Do you think adding the foliage at the back would suffice?
Well, it wouldn't hurt, but I hesitate to offer advice on composition when it comes to adding things to an oil painting - as this is? - because once you've followed that advice and done it, you might be unhappy with the result and blame me!  But yes, it probably does need something, and that might be including some of the foliage, or (and?) breaking up that grey wedge on the right and the darker shape beyond it - the car achieves this in the photograph, but you may not wish to include that.

The first thing that I would do is lengthen the side wall, you’ve knocked about three foot off! There’s also a shadow issue... the wall that is in perspective is light, the shadow on the ground would place that also in the shade. Yes, add a tree or two.
Thanks for advice. I think I can live with the shortened wall but I agree the side wall needs toning down.
It hits me that that the corner of the wall on the right and the shadow of the join to the garage are not verticals as compared to the walls of the main house.  This should be an easy fix.
Thanks for all the advice. I work really slowly so here's the addition of foliage. What do you think?
It’s good tohave a variety of textures and the foliage does just that.
The foliage is an improvement. However, you didn’t take up my advice about the shadow side of the building which I made in my previous comment! It’s not in shadow and it should be... And of course the side of the building is too short compared with the photo. But I like the overall design of the composition with those angles and empty spaces.
