I know it's a bit like saying 'nice frame' if commenting on someone's painting, and apologies for that! But I do find the texture of your paper fascinating - I'm not at all sure it's a paper I've tried, and it does look very inviting. What are you using?
It is of course an excellent drawing though! It's not the way I'd approach it, but that's neither here nor there: always interesting to see how others do things.
One thing I remember about rhinos, incidentally, from around 60 years ago when we all stayed with my Uncle Vic and Auntie Amy in their keeper's house at Bristol Zoo: when rhinos pass water, to be delicate about it, they can do so horizontally - a couple getting rather too close to the edge of the enclosure discovered that, to their distress. I can't swear that it was deliberate - rhinos have an inscrutable expression - but we all had our suspicions.

Hello Robert, Please don't get too excited about the paper. Let me explain. It's Hahnemuhle 200lb NOT Fine Art paper and comes in a block. It is actually a very smooth paper (which suits my high detail requirements). What has happened in the image above, which I took today was that I took it in sunshine (Yep that's right sunshine - shocked me too!!!) and I think the angle of the light has over exaggerated the texture. I really like the paper not only as it allows the accurate drawing but it also takes the watercolour paint very well. It is however very easy to damage the surface with an eraser, which as I work in pencil can be required, so should you need to so it needs to be a very soft one and done very carefully. Hope this helps. Malcolm
PS love the story of the rhino and it's pee. Never underestimate animals eh!!!

I've always liked Hahnemuehle papers. I tend not to use erasers, in paintings at least, so wouldn't be bothered about their effect on the paper. This looks like turning into a very splendid rhino; sorry to read of your bereavement and other troubles, which unfortunately do tend to abound in life - painting is always a good way to put them into perspective, but if you're suffering from Covid it's also a thing you can't easily do. I hope everyone is over it now.

As things return to normal I am picking up where I left off. Onwards and upwards as they say.
