It's always nice to occasionally take on a challenging and detailed painting project and now I've started one of these, I've also decided to share it with you during the work. It should take a lot of time, probably even months, because I have studies most of the day and don't have too much time to draw. But I think you'll be fine with it, Here I started by painting a base with watercolors and the sky and clouds with Pan Pastel

I started the cliffs at the edge of the cities with colored pencils and we hope for good and realistic results,

Always interesting to see work in progress. Which medium did you use for the base colours? Excellent work with the coloured pencils so far. I shall watch with interest.

For the grass and the mountains I used ECOLINE watercolors. And for the sky and the clouds I used PANPASTEL pan pastel

Just looked at both items, quite new to me. Will be interesting to see what happens...have you " Burnished" the coloured pencil element ?

I made progress with the cliffs on the mountain, it's challenging and interesting with lots of small intricate details but that's part of the fun! I noticed that there are many colors that I need and they are not in the set of pencils and it's a bit complicated (why really aren't there bigger sets with many more colors?,)

Looking really good , there are large tins of colours available but most seem to be coloured that I personally would not use . Often bulked up with fluorescent colours, sparkly effects etc. You seem to be blending your colours really well and I’m sure your getting some good mixes, only you the artist doing the actual work will notice if the tone is not quite how you would like it. One of the things that is hard to learn is to be less critical of our work , it take years and unfortunately we are still our own worse critics . Ease up on yourself and enjoy your artwork you have many years to perfect it and the signed are that you will be very good at it .

I wasn't sure what to make of this to begin with. In your first post the mountains looked like insipid icy flames rising from the distant hills. I did wonder why you used Hebrew to describe the work on a UK based website, but Google translate came to the rescue. As the work has progressed, I have nothing but admiration for the way you have developed the mountains. Really looking forward to seeing the finished work, though clearly, there is a lot, a huge lot of work, awaiting you. Please carry on though.
