It probably was you Robert who made the statement. I do believe it’s true as I start a painting, I alway think it’s not looking good  then at some point it seems to come together. I’m only able to spend about ten minutes maximum painting at the moment and need to rest my hands. The work is taking time , I need to keep enthusiastic or I will give up on it. I do like doing this sort of painting where I can put the paint on and lift some off to suggest a leaf of stem etc, don’t know if there is a technical term for it. Anyway this is a far I have reach with it, seems a lot of time for so little to show, but I’m still at it so that’s a plus.
A very good line drawing, Dixie, and its looking good. I hope I get to be that vibrant in my Autumnal years :) Now, no more spillages, please.
I’m sure you will look as vibrant in your autumn years and full if vitality too. This is taking longer than it would normally but I’m enjoying the process, as I’m having to work slower I concentrating more . I have managed a couple of session, and started to put some detail in, the bit I’m really enjoying is detailing the leaves. Thought I would include a photo standing back to give a view of the scale.
It's looking brilliant Paul both in colour and your painting, I do hope your hands improve soon, take care and stay safe.👍😀
Thank you Linda, it is a lot brighter colours than I normally use. I think it needs the bright colours to counteract the darker background, I have done several similar painting and found that some just look better in a more vivid pallet. Strange as some I have done look decidedly better for softer colours, but I suppose that painting for you they are always different even if you painted the same scene as you know. My hand are a bit better, I’m using some soft finger supports that seem to help, I was having physio back in March but with the lockdown that fell through. They did try doing it over the phone but gave up, have to wait  now until they are able to see people and do hands on work, no pun intended.

That's looking really great, Dixie.
I do like the colours.  Really has an Autumn feel about it.
Fabulous Paul, the colours are vibrant and some great detail.
Great colours Paul, very autumnal. Keep safe and I hope your hands improve
Thank you all for the positive comments, they are most encouraging. I have done some more but still a slow process,  I have to say that I am thoroughly enjoying it. I’ve done a bit more detail and stared to darken some of the background areas, I will take some paint back off to show vines and leaves in the shadow areas. I have also put a base colour on the tree trunk, I used a candle to rub gently on the areas I did not want painting, I may use this again to get  different colour layers all experimental.
Looking really excellent Paul, great detail but not overworked!
Coming along nicely Paul, the detail is beautiful.
