A4 watercolour of an old deep sea fishing trawler , this particular vessel was made of wood. They were big boats, needed accommodation space and deep hold for the catch . Picked the wrong time to paint this as it’s extremely hot and I’m having difficulty getting the paint to move as I want it to , working on small areas for short periods.
Base sketch and base colours at this stage , decided to add a bit of white to the cobalt blue to give the faded paint look on the hull .

Managed to get twenty minutes on this before it became to hot , needed to do short sessions, will wait till evening now before doing anything else to it . Just put some more base colours on the dockside buildings, will wait till it’s cooled to do detailed work. Please note I’m a bit of a scruffy worker , but then I’m told I dress scruffy so obviously it’s my thing .
