I’ve put this in WIP as I’m not sure where else to put it, polite answers only. I have over the past five or six months started to photograph my paintings in stages of producing them. I use my iPad and use the photo edit facility to look at what they look like lighter or darker. I’ve found this to be useful on several occasions when unsure of the tone etc. I have included the stages I have reached so far and will post a couple more before the final painting. Please comment as you wish, as I find chatting about it help with the development, and brings different ideas.
In stage 2, the red hull on the right helps balance the picture, with the big red boat on the left, but in Stage 3 you seem to have lost it.  I hope it goes back.
Broadly agree with Linda - though wonder if the balancing element needs to be the same red as that on the big red boat; I don't actually know the answer to that!  But if you have a play on your Ipad, it might help you decide ... something you can do with oil paint and acrylic, not so easy with watercolour, is to just lay a colour down and find out; but here's where modern technology can come to a watercolourist's aid.
Thanks to you both for your comments. I was planning on using the same read on the bottom hull line of the small boat on the right as the large barge. I noticed when I change the barge to nearest it actually is, this I had lost the balance, and thought the colour would add it back a little, well that’s the theory anyway.
It's looking good Paul, everything seems nicely positioned and balanced out 👍
I have not done anything since Sunday, waiting for my hand to settle down a bit, mind you sometimes a wobble helps.

Progress so far , don’t know if I should put a couple or three culls in the sky? to add a bit of life. Will give it a day or two before touching up here and there. Did my usual thing and got bored so tend to rush the finish, that’s why I will leave it a bit before posting in the gallery.
Good result Paul, well balanced composition. You could drop in a few gulls, keep them small but realistic, not ticks!
Thanks Alan I dropped a couple of thing from the photo and add a few and change a bit of the colours to get a better colour pallet. Overall I’m  pleased with the result. I take your point about the gulls I will practice on some scrap paper beforehand.
Oh yes, very nice Paul! Have enjoyed seeing this one progress, I love the finished article. One of my favourite subjects (next to cars!) and you've handled it beautifully, I particularly like the rusting hull of the black boat.
