I wonder how many people have more than one painting on the go at a time , I’m a very restless person and get bored quite easily so I have at least two or more paintings going at the same time .  The two I’m working on at the moment ( I will correct myself there and say the main two as I actually have five partly finished paintings on my shelf ) are the two below . I alway photo the stages as I go along I find it very useful for going back and viewing the stage I’m at on my iPad.  I started the dockyard scene first and as it became more complex I started another painting that I put aside as I’m not happy with it at the moment. I decided to do the autumn scene more on the loose side so that I have something different to work on.
Same here Paul...
This is wonderful work Paul.
I generally work on two paintings at a time, I’m talking oils here of course, drying time between layers being the most obvious reason.
I'm the opposite, I like to complete one picture and then begin the next.
I usually have at least 2 underway. But often there's one that has hit a 'hump' or needing an idea/inspiration/direction that is the one just sitting waiting. Because over the years I've come to realise I'm prone to jumping in on too many exciting starting ideas hehe, I've come to (at least try) and discipline myself to pick one and push through on it to the end. Then the others might get some loving before another new idea grabs me.
wow, great work Paul! I love that houses! Me like Peter: only one - finish; big pause, some day's, - and then something new one:)
Thank you for replying to my question, it seem it’s not uncommon to have more than one on the go . I checked today and there are actually six unfinished paintings four I’m actually working on and two that I’ve lost my drive with this one in particular just can’t get to finish it for some reason.
Paul, I often have several designs drawn up waiting to be painted  - have three or four at the moment, one a linocut - but only ever work on one at a time once started, otherwise I tend to lose focus.

I love your art. It is so beautiful <3
I often had two things going on at the same time.  It's been a bit of a struggle to have even one thing going on lately - having a clearance of ca. 45 years' worth of files.  But I shall get back to it all soon.
