I agree with Marjorie. I'd stress the last point, do they EVER end up as you'd envisaged them? A good result Frank.
For me it's mixed media pretty much all the time now (apart from drawings with just pencil). I've not used acrylic yet, I think I have a few tubes somewhere...often I use coloured waterproof inks. If I'm outside my sketchbooks I use 300gsm watercolour paper.

The only time I did practice mixed media was graphite drawing.
Obviously the core of my drawing was graphite, so it's not really 100% mixed media, as they were similar kind to each other.
For example charcoal in tube, or water soluble graphite, or kneeded graphite, just as flexible as kneeded eraser...
Yes.
I have been playing with these readily.
Your art is attracting me mostly with its sharp, bright colours you've achieved.
It's crisp, lovely coloured, and good looking indeed.

Frank, your painting is looking good.
A few months ago, I thought of branching out and using various medium I have, together.
Not knowing how or where to start I did a search. Glad I did. These dvd's are amazing, if wanting to be a little more expressive.
From dynamic sketch to finished painting - Chris Forsey
I then wanted more-
Pushing the boundaries of watercolour - Chris Forsey. In this dvd he uses acrylic, pastel, ink and crayon, also.
Although I'm a watercolour purist, I do find watching Chris painting very exciting. I haven't, as yet branched-out but have every intention of doing so.
Hope this helps.
Happy Painting Adventures :)
