I am very lucky to have two raven fly over the garden from time to time - incredible to see and hear these amazing birds!

Thanks for letting us know - I'm jealous ! 😉 I bet I've never seen a Raven out in the nature... Just his smaller cousins, that are very common birds everywhere in the cities...
I have a flock of Maggies who shout loudly if I don't feed them, my son in Scotland has a live in Jackie Daw who sits on hi# head while he plays guitar...my son , not JD .  Every bird every animal has a place and should be treasured....For every one who knows him it's Sams third Gotcha day tomorrow....still have books.  Wuff.

Thank you Sylvia for sharing your story! Lovely birds they are - indeed...
Thank you everyone for checking in and sharing your tales - I did enjoy every each one! I just did a very first attempt of marking the shape of the bird with basic brush strokes... From now on I may will not get lost while dealing with his feathers 🙈
There's no any progress since, as I'm back to working shifts, but from this Thursday I'm off again, so I'll post updates later this week... ● I can share some sort of improvement, though... It's about the wooden palette. I'm aware, that it does make mixing accurate colour match much easier, if the mixing/matching is being done next to the painting... Side to side alike. It takes blink of the eye only to compare mixed colour. I've been watching YouTube tutorials, where artists did compliment it, and adviced benefits. I did make it done just moments ago, and I love it!!! I have fixed the palette to the magnetic mat, the same way my painting boards are, so I can freely move it vertically wherever I want it to be. By this improvement - I did free up my left hand, the mixed colour will be exactly before me, next to the painting! Maybe I'm overpricing it, but it will improve my whole painting process, no doubt about it 😉. - You don't know, but I was accidentally scratching the fresh painting with the edge of the wooden palette, while being too close working on details... I was having my thumb fatigue issue, because of holding palette for too long. While I'm painting, I'm holding the supportive stick to support my wright hand, to keep it stable still above the painting surface... It was very inconvenient to manage hold both (the palette and the stick) in one hand, causing my palm fatigue as well... These issues will gone now, thanks to this improvement 😉 Not to mention the lighting source - which will lighten the mixed colour and the painting at the same angle, same level of light 👍👍👍. I think this is very important too, regarding accurate colour match. Thank you for following dear friends.

After days of break, I'm finding myself struggle to get back to painting. Especially if there's kitchen in pieces for last two days, as the refurbishment is carried on... Eventually I did manage to make myself do some painting today. I'm not rushing, just carry on blocking in, improving and trying visualise the look I want to achieve...
The raven is looking really good so far. I think the palette is a great idea for videoing, people watching can see what you are mixing. No good for me, I'd have my arm in it!
Art, I appreciate your idea of fixing the palette next to your painting. When I’m mixing paint I will hold a little on either the mixing knife or brush next to the painting obviously where I am planning to use it. If it doesn’t look right that’s the time to change it until it does.  I also share your gap days in painting! I go to an art group on a Thursday and do something there, but may work on something at home, and not necessarily the same idea or even style!  This doesn’t help continuity for either piece of work, and inspiration is lacking again at the moment! Your raven is looking really good. I look forward to seeing more.
Love it already Pog.

● Thank you Collette 😉 for your time to have a look. I'm hoping to get the Raven done just the way I want, let's hope I'll manage 🙈 Regarding hanging palette on the wall - as you know I did it rather to improve the exact colour mix/match than anything else. The second reason was - to freed my left hand... 1- I was accidentally scratching the painting with the edge of palette, standing too close to the wall... 2- my left palm was sore after prolonged time of holding the supportive stick... The recording on video is the last thing I'd think of, as I'm not really a teacher man thing at all 🙊 But I admire, now when I have it on the wall... I may appreciate to include the mixing colours into the short video I'm occasionally do? You know, friends of mind do complaining, that they don't really enjoy fully the videos I'm sharing, because of narrow angle I've chosen... But my point of sharing is actually not to show the process of painting, it's rather to share my joy of doing so - does it come in sense? So in short, I'm not making video to share how I'm mixing colour, how I'm making strokes, or such... It's to share my happy time, enjoying my painting rather, than anything else... But as you said, it may be attracting potential viewers to actually see me mixing colours 😊 Thanks!

● Thank you Tessa 😊 I just have mentioned to Collette, the reasons for sticking the palette onto the wall, it's working for me very well! Actually this is first time I did use palette like this first time in my life, and I love it! My left hand is not sore anymore, and I can standing close to the painting without fear of scratching the painting! I can see mixed hues exactly next to the painting, which I'm finding very handy! I think I should have done it long ago 😊 I know myself, and all I'm struggling is being so eager to start new project, then slowly loosing interest to it... To help myself keep motivated, I'm working at three projects same time... I've got close up Raven, the full picture of background and an small bird, then the portraiture of my wife and niece... Plenty subjects, different areas to choose from, and keep my brain being interested 🙉 The hardest is to get back to painting routine after a week off, though 🙉🙊🙈 Thank you 😉
Love it already Pog.
● Thank you very much Denise 😉
My kitchen looks like mess, lol, it does kills my motivation, as many stranger workers comes in and out every day... I don't know how I made myself to spent some time improving things on to Raven, but hey, at least I've made fewer brush strokes today! Check it out of how my kitchen is looking after 7 days since they started refurbishment... 7 days! I can hardly see what they got paid, for their daily shift...?
Your Raven is looking really good, Pog. I must say a lot better than your kitchen. Hope it gets back to the way you want it, SOON.
