Great work Paul - you've created some real depth to this view by strengthening the foreground and knocking back the items in the distance.
Your painting is coming along nicely, Dixie. The field with the distant tree breaks are quite intriguing. Reminds me of the planting on the Brecon army ranges. I like the misty effect you have added.

Thank you Andrew and Carole , the painting is roughly based on the Dales but could be any valley  and hills so many areas have the Forrest breaks and clearances on the hillsides . Just a little more to do then I will call it a day on this one , I really enjoyed painting a landscape and appreciate the advice and comments.

It come to the point where I say enough or I will start to fiddle with it ,strange how when we come towards the end of a painting we speed up to get it finished. It’s something I keep telling myself to stop doing but the next time I do exactly the same , quite a lot of emotions involved in painting well the process of painting it . Full blown painting and in a mount , think I will post it without the mount later.
This painting, with a bit of feedback in between, has turned out really good, something special in fact… nice job Paul.
Thank you Alan for the advice and kind comment. Silly isn’t it that I always remember to do the distant trees etc bluer colour and make a point of explaining why to anyone who asks , but typically school boy error I forget to obey the rule myself , fortunately Alan you picked up on it .

The foreground makes a lot of difference, and puts the path in place.  Lovely colours, great composition.
