A pony, I hear you ask? Ok, it’s yet another Mustang, but I’m sick of having that in my WIP titles :) I’ve been on fire the last couple of months...at least being furloughed has given me the opportunity to paint as well as perform DIY tasks. Just finished one Mustang, on here elsewhere, and this one popped up.  It’s a ‘66 convertible, commissioned by Dee for her husband Kev for Father’s Day, so shhhhh....it’s top secret.
Looking good already Anthony, though I did expect galloping hooves if only for a few seconds! Glad to know being furloughed is providing extra painting time.

Ha, gotcha! 😁 it is certainly helping in terms of more time, it’s also given me the chance to share the kitchen with my daughter while she carries out her schoolwork which is great.
Started on this one tonight. Worked the sky in (needs more highlights to the clouds) and blocked the grass and gravel in. Working the gravel dark to light, it’s a while since I’ve worked like this.
Was definitely in the zone today - a much more common situation since I was furloughed! Got a good start on the car, and would have been further on if The Wicker Man hadn’t beckoned :)
Decent progress today, with the first detail added. Worked on the trees and detailed the area around the headlights and below the grille:
Another afternoon on the Mustang - was hoping to complete the bodywork but couldn’t help getting a bit of detail in there: The number plate took ages! Even so, glad I got it done.
I always enjoy watching your work in progress.  This is coming along wonderfully.
Cheers Lewis! It’s coming along nicely, which is just as well as it’s a Father’s Day gift!
Went for a nice 5 mile walk with The Boss this morning, then cracked in with the Mustang. Got a decent start on the grass - left of the car needs work but the right hand side is getting there. Which is good as it’s been pointed out to me that it’s less than three weeks til Father’s Day - eek!
Looking so good.
Cheers Paul! Got some more done on the grass, but going to have to wait until the screen surround’s dry now so I can mask it and finish the background off. So, just to keep going, thought I’d block the car’s shadow in, which has transformed the painting completely.  Looks a little odd framed by black at the moment but I’ll layer this up with lighter tones, finishing with light grey gravel/clippings.
