I have learned that I really lean towards detail, even tho I really want my paintings to have a loose feel and look to it. So what I’ve found is not allowing myself near my small and really small brushes until doing highlights, I really have to earn using them :) In fact, only allowing myself to use my large paint brushes the first day of a new painting really has helped me go in a freer direction.  I used to start a blank canvas with a tiny brush and was frustrated when I didn’t seem to have the look I was hoping for.  Your picture is coming along great Bari, I love all the colours, they work so well together.  C x

Thanks Carrie,  I'll give that a try on my next watercolour.
Looking good Bari! I’m a bit of a detail freak and that works for me...nothing wrong with it if that’s your thing. Personally I love the detail here - you’ve nailed the foreground/background contrast as well.
Thanks Anthony,  getting near the end followed by the looking and tweaking..
Just about finished
Really looks good Bari.  Love the red buildings in the foreground, giving you good aerial perspective.
