I don't often show WIPs - so I thought I would, just to make a change.  Vast amount to do yet, but I've got the basics in.  Acrylic because I want to get this one done fairly quickly, and it's on a stretched canvas, which I've just about given up on for oils.  I've used the Daler-Rowney Graduate Acrylics, kindly given to me by POL for a bit of help with their website, and a bit of Chromacolour Burnt Umber, which I happened to have on the palette.
What size is the canvas Robert?.
Love the contrast in this one already Robert, look forward to seeing progress!
Size is 20" by 8" (metric confuses me - Imperial measurements all the way).
I’m with you on the size thing , I still work in pints an gallons and pounds and ounces. I worked in engineering before joining the RAF, I used all the old spanner’s size, nuts and bolts etc.
Looking forward to seeing you work on this one Robert.
I'm loving the composition, and the use of the elongated format.
I also like the long format Robert, and your confident laying in of the dark tones: looking good so far.
I had the same acrylics from POL also, they certainly spread easily, albeit a bit thin! I wouldn’t have bought this particular brand. This is quite a challenge here, just one tree, good luck on this one, but progressing well. Personally, I’m not a big fan of these tall elongated shapes, but you weren’t left with a lot of choice here given the subject matter! It must be nearing completion by now!
