Yes, well this is day two. I blocked some colour in. let it dry, then I drew the Buddha in white pastel because it's quite large scale, 76 cm x 60 cm, I can't use a grid because of astigmatism it would give me bad double vision, so done by eye. I try to figure out in my head and what looks right proportion wise. Although for me, this is not fool proof. I've gone over the white pastel with some watery paint, the bits I'm fairly ok with. Of course this will change as I begin to paint it. The background won't look like that, I wanted to get a transition of colours that I'm going to try and create some texture on top. There will be more shadowing on the Buddha itself. It's the bare bones but I think I've reached something I can now begin to paint. You can see the mistakes I've made, I went over the feet three times and I still think the are too small but I will correct as the painting starts taking shape. I haven't sketched anything on a large scale like this before and I did find it tricky and time consuming but I think I'm happy with what I've got to make a start. As always, opinion, advice, welcome. Thanks. It's acrylic.
