That is a big milestone Anth! I bet you are pleased.  It is looking great.
How you have the patience, not to mention the skill and concentration to produce this is beyond me Anth! Fantastic.
Cheers both! This and the last one are the most complex subjects I’ve painted and between them were probably 6 months’ work - definitely flagging a bit now. Going to go for a few simpler ones next :)
Wow Anthony, superb work.  You have such a lot of patience.  this is fabulous.
Absolutely brill.  Hope the car owner appreciates how much effort and skill goes into the painting.  Looking forward to the final picture.
Cheers both! Steve, the owners are both very good friends and I think they’ll appreciate the time and effort that’s gone into this one. Can’t wait to hand it over now!
Spilled turps all over the kitchen tiles stopped play tonight (!) but the background’s coming along nicely. Painting motion blurred typography’s interesting, not particularly looking forward to the STP logo bottom left!
Absolutely brilliant and so detailed, Anth  this is a master piece mate.
Cheers Dixie!
Bit more background done this weekend: Just a touch more motion blurred typography and the top right corner and I’m done!
You spilled Turps - I've just done MUCH worse than that: I spilled gin - reduced to licking it off the worktop.......   Your painting is brilliant, however clumsy you might be with the turpentine - absolutely brilliant: not only for your skill with paint but for your inexhaustible patience - I'd say "care" rather than patience; you care about what you're doing, and it shows in every square centimetre of this piece.
Licking gin off a worktop…ah, happy days! Cath and Tig, the owners, have been very good friends of mine since I first got into American cars many, many years ago Robert, and making this painting the best I’ve produced to date means so much to me…it’s now the only one I’ve worked on for six months. It’ll be worth every minute to see the look on Tig’s face when we surprise him with it!
