Started this today on cardboard primed in burnt sienna acrylic.
Looking good already - why cardboard, though?  Not that paintings haven't lasted on cardboard (e.g., Georg Grosz) but I wonder why you've chosen it - sympathetic surface?
Just trying to save the planet, by giving the back end of a drawing pad a second life.  I’m a bit nervous about landscapes because of my lack of experience.
Good idea and progress so far Linda. I usually find that if you use some scrap paper etc the work will turn out better than expected and you will wish you’d used something else!
No need to be nervous Linda, that’s a good start and an excellent composition! Shout up if you need any advice along the way...
Matters not what you are painting on , it’s looking good already. As said it’s a good composition, and your skill as a artist is shown through. Good idea about the cardboard , don’t think it would work so well for watercolour?.
No I wouldn't try it for watercolour.  But it is fine for acrylic.  I watched a demo by Rod Moore (Australian), where he uses a tonal map to begin with.  Almost grisaille, but tinted with warm or cool colours depending on the aerial perspective.  Anyway I thought I would give it a go.  I agree it is looking promising, but I still have every opportunity to ruin it.  All comments are welcome on the way as I don't really know where it is going in the end.
I’ve added more colour over most of it, the the heat is drying out my paints too quickly today.

Horror of all horrors!  It has ended up upside down.  Uploading from my I-pad is a bit unpredictable.  Any tips on uploading grate fully received.  Painting is not finished, but some progress.
Oops! Easily done Linda. I also use an iPad. Go back to the photo, click edit, then save it again . You might need to edit something, like the size very slightly. Should be ok then.
Thanks Tessa.  I'll give it a try.
Seeing it upside down, it is obvious to me that the sky is too dark. But here is another try at uploading. No that didn’t work.
