When I said I was painting to please other , it wasn’t intended imply I was trying to please an audience, I’m irritated by a few comments made by a family member and his relatives. It just comments like mm bit wishy washy , mm same old thing  etc , I wasn’t trying to please them, more subconsciously stoping the digs . Still I’ve told them exactly what think and suggested they should learn to paint before criticising those who can, not on the Christmas card list this year I think   I happy with what I’ve done and it’s been worthwhile looking at my work in a more critical way. I will, photo the finished piece and get it on the gallery.
Paul, I think the reason we post our works here, is to get feedback, and support. We artists are a small group. Most of us do it for our own desire to create. Getting support from other artists is a bonus. Non-Artists don't understand how much angst we actually go through.
I knew it wasn’t just me!😅
Thank guys for your supportive comments. The final pic .
The Lake District?   Relatives' comments can be a mixed blessing; I may have said this before, being repetitive, but my mum looked at a rather nice tree (I thought) in one of mine and said "it looks a bit like a hedgehog...": yes, well, thank you mother, ever the encouraging word... (Generally, she did encourage me - who bought me my first easel - who bought me oil paint when I wasn't getting on with watercolour?  My parents - as with most of us, I expect.  I still have that easel, after 60 years, too; and use it every day.)
