I was asked to incorporate these three photos into a painting. I was also asked to take a higher perspective down to the sea. Please ignore colouring at this is just a phone image. I feel its lacking something. Should I do more with the sand in the foreground? I know some of you will probably thing my figure should be bigger and closer to the foreground, but to be honest people are really my weak point.  Any advice would be grateful. Thank you  Alicia
You have incorporated the 3 photos well, and overall the three paintings work together well. You say not to worry about the colours as taken on an phone, but I thought a few more dark / shadows areas could be used to stop some of the grasses and fence seeming to float, but hard to tell if the colours are not quite right.
Basically it all looks okay and a good effort apart from a couple of points. It’s a pity that you’ve positioned the lighthouse almost out of the frame, needs nudging in a touch, not too much. And you’ve already accepted that the figure is far too small and to be honest just doesn’t sit right where it is! It does need bringing forward and obviously making bigger. Practice some figures on scrap paper and then go for it! You may just surprise yourself!
Thank you for your comments both Alan's. I have made my figure a little bigger, (a little) and moved her up the fence more. I'm going to need to get over my fear of people.  I think you're right I need a few more shadows too. I'll have another go tomorrow and then post again. I really struggled with this one. Not my norm. Alicia
Ps, I didn't crop the image very well, the light house isn't quite that close to the edge.
A little larger. I prefer this crop as an image, but my friend wanted it all. Fences beginning to end.
Now that’s a much better figure Alicia, I actually like the triptych format.
Also, assuming that the lighthouse is still on the rt. part of the triptych, the figure is better turned to the right, leading the eye to the lighthouse.
Thank you Alan and Marjorie I knew the figure wasnt working, but I guess I was hoping I might get away with it Haha, obviously not. Working from three separate images and having to blend them isn't my usual way of painting. I had to use my imagination  to fill in the gaps, so I questioned myself over everything. What I did discover is that I prefer to use a rigger brush over a fan brush for grass. :) Many thanks Alicia
.just to be a nitty picker Alicia , why not grow your foreground grasses a bit more,  darken and emphasise them. Also your fence could be bolder...,just saying...
I agree with Sylvia, slightly darker fence and bolder grass in the foreground. Looks well now please do let us see the finished work.
Thank you for all your advice, I think in the end I followed everyones, and I'm feeling better with this now. I know you could keep going on, I certainly could, but is there anything standing out now? Alicia
