I used both Robert. It was fine with my usual waterproof pens. It was when I used the tombow to do some shadows it all went wrong, but you are right they are brush pens. Just a quick update. I've re drawn the picture in ink as I do. It's actually better than before. Will paint it in the coming days. Not ditching the brush pens, but will just use on smaller area on some pictures. Feel a lot happier now.

I will remove one Julie , don’t worry about the message that says why it was removed, it just shows when a moderator removes a comment etc , it’s not breached any rules.
Thank you Paul. I couldnt find a way of removing the duplicate,  but I guess a moderator would be able to.
It’s easily done Julie, you won’t be the last, but it’s no big deal so don’t worry. You can’t remove it yourself, but us moderators are always on hand. There’s five of us now, so it’s easily dealt with.
Julie, on the thought of how do you stop overworking, I recall a short comment that has stayed with me, that I try to use myself.... and that was along the lines of 'stop when you have captured what you set out to capture' It's not easy to determine sometimes, but I do find myself asking myself whether what I am about to add (or fiddle with) will improve anything. It's certainly not an easy one to answer, but the benefit, of asking myself, is that it makes me pause. Hope this helps.
Julie I understand your frustration  we all have been there.   BUT  the answer is in your own hands not what works for others.   I am great at painting over stuff and tearing stuff up.   But I am contrary enough to find my own way.   It’s your creation and learn from your mistakes.  Do your own thing my only suggestion is do not copy and do it your way. P s I am the person in a group who walks away from any demos and always does it my way.    Incidentally that’s a favourite song.    Go girl. Create.
You are so right Sylvia. I think I got into a bit of a tizz because this is the first group I've ever joined like this. I have had to give myself a self talk today while out walking. About mistakes and moving on. And it was just a stupid mistake. I've since re drawn the picture ready to paint. I try not to copy, but as with most peopleI am influenced by other artists that I admire I do often use a photo reference as a starting point, especially buildings. Thanks for the message though. Gerry, I think your ideas are very useful and I will certainly think on them when I am at the finishing stage of the re worked picture. Thank you.

I wonder why my messages from 2 weeks ago have suddenly resurfaced. There seems to be a new member in the middle of them. Bit strange.
Don't think you really need to be sad...... I think Julie is quite able to get over it.
