Nice one, Paul. Thanks for sharing your process. If something is just off, for you, it makes so much sence to face it and find the way of being at rest with it. Will this help you see ahead in similar situations in the future, or was this just one of those awful 'it just didn't go right' moments? .
It was down to me painting when I should not have, headache, blocked sinus etc but I was determined not to sit there feeling sorry for myself, should have done. It started to go wrong because I used to dark a colour, tried to lighten it and had a green puddle, should have walked away but stubbornly I decided I could put it to  rights . Ohh no you  cant and ohh no I didn’t, so I posted it at the time and commented that I wasn’t happy with that tree. I like most of it otherwise it would be in the bin hence try to give it a better look, I usually just put it aside and go back a day or two later, lesson learned here. It wasn’t driving me mad nor was I fretting about it , I picked it up amongst some others and thought I might try doing something with this, if it works fine if it doesn’t nothing lost and someone might find it useful.  I added some darker greens today and will add some highlights, as once again it came out to dark green, think I can still get it to look a bit better, but it’s never going to look as if it’s an original. Paul  (Dixie) Dean on 07/02/2026 20:18:38 All things considered I think it looks pretty good. Too often we’re concerned with making something complete instead of just being in the process of making it.

It’s looking a lot better I think Brett, it wasn’t bugging me that much thst I felt compelled or driven to correcting it , I was more curious about wether it could be done . Normally I correct as I go along but this has sat around for a month and that was the thing that intrigued me , will it work, yes it doe to a degree but iIts a patching job so I don’t expect anything fantastic t come up . Worth the time and effort as we always learn from our mistakes etc.
