Hi, I am really new here. At least for once, I can say that I am new.
Well, my question is all about medium. There is no information about materials and support of paintings.
I can see prices and sizes, but that's not enough to evaluate or really appreciate a work.
Is that possible that the software team add that info on pages when we're viewing pictures of painting works?
Thanks.

Yeah, for both of you (Norrette and Alan).
Yes, the information might be supplied by the artist, and that's what I did with my first work. When we upload works, we have a chance to chose Mediums and Styles and other infos. That is what I expected to see close to works (specially the ones for sale).
I tried to put it on the description, because I believe it is important. What would you say if you order a wonderful painting, very beautiful, very well done, looking real painted on canvas... and then, you'll get a A3 or even A2 canvas textured paper with a digital work printed on it by a large home printer? Just an inkjet copy instead of an original brushed work?!
Do you understand my POV? I am also a Digital artist; I paint with liquid plastic, wax, acrylics, oil and so on. But if I don't say what medium and support I used, the only info people get is nothing but a photo. How to evaluate the work?
That's why I was asking if it was possible to add those references. Of course, when and if interested, buyers can always ask the seller first.

When I (rarely now) post, I do try (or have tried now and then) to include the dimensions and the mediums and colours used: though it can be a bit of a sod to remember the colours - I agree that it would be helpful, and will try to do this in all my future posts. I confess that watching YouTube videos annoys me when the artist forgets to list the colours used. (I've been playing with Davey's Grey today: a colour I've always loathed before, but it works well in monochrome foliage paintings - I may post my doodle to prove it. )

I agree that information on some gallery entries can be sparse, I’ve noticed this particularly on the TALP entries where all you get is the size. No medium, no surface details. I presume if you are really interested in purchasing you would contact the seller first and then make a decision.
One thing I do find frustrating is the number of TALP entries made by people who don’t provide a profile or other examples of their work. I guess it’s an open competition but it would be nice to know a bit about the artist and whether the entry is a typical example of their work. For ‘The Artist’ entries the presumption is that the painter is professional or semi professional so a website address would be nice ?
Just a thought.

It’s up to all of us artists to include that information. As I’ve said earlier, there’s no plans to make these fields mandatory in the near future so we have to rely on the individual to provide as much detail as possible.
Unfortunately not many do, you don’t always get told the basics like medium or size, rarely the latter!
So, that’s the current situation, it’s not going to change any time soon!
