Thank you Robert for your kind comments.  I will admit I found it a struggle to find a brush that would do what I wanted to achieve in the short time before the alcohol evaporates.  I settled on a worn hake, I don’t know how it got worn as I don’t often do watercolour.  A watercolourist I am not!
Yes and thank you once again for all the tips. I hear spraying vodka from a small atomiser spray works well.  That is onto the artwork, not into the mouth ... (for the benefit of Norrette M)  Edit: just seen this, might have a look. Pastel Painting demo

There’s a traditional pastel drawing on the gallery this morning by artist Roger Gadd. Traditional in the sense that he’s not added anything resembling a liquid substance  - a superb example in my view!
For anyone interested in Pastel painting, have a look at the Pastel Society 2025 exhibition which is now online and can be accessed via the Mall gallery website.  Always a stunning exhibition of many and varied styles and techniques.
