It would be good if we *volunteer* moderators could message those who raise reports, especially if technically the report does not qualify. My personal inbox is filled with some valid, some less so, notifications of complaints. Having spent some time in other complaint systems, I recall it's important to perhaps consider if one has read the offending posting, in context with the thread it is in, and also consider what could be irony. Members who trawl back through months, perhaps to target one or two individuals, is termed as *egregious* by some organisations.  And, yes, from the other perspective, a "sorry" goes a long way. Please consider the volunteers. I'm happy to open my account for messages on request, if that helps.  If we lose our volunteers, then the place will be over - run by spammers.
Frivolous and irrelevant complaints - emanating from one person who has decided to write her own forum rules - are rejected.  They've formed a minor dribble so far: if the volume increases, we shall have to consider appropriate further action.
Having just seen 13 (I think) spam messages all from the same 'illuminati' source, it's hats off to the moderators.
We're grateful, Tony: I think I speak for all of us, Alan, Norette, Gillian, Paul and - oh so humbly, myself - in appreciating the efforts we make.  I think, in view of some recent reports, I should add: we do our best; we are not policepersons of the internet; we know that some posts are offensive; we know some are exploitative; we know that some might trespass on good taste. But those we remove are those that are abusive; personally insulting or just rude - as judged by reasonably intelligent standards; or inclined to promote outside commercial interests; we will not remove posts that are judged to be offensive according to standards which are well removed from those to which normal people would subscribe.  "Normal" here being those to which the majority of people would not object, though, of course, others might.   Wasting the valuable time of moderators is franky unacceptable.

How on earth did an ad for pentobarbitol get into the top line in the Gallery?
I’ve asked Dawn to remove them, I think there’s four in total. Simple enough, just register and post…
How did they manage to mark these images with the ‘FOR SALE’ tag? I thought it was only available to members with a paid subscription?
The simple answer to your question Andrew is we don’t know , I’m sure Dawn will find out how they managed it and prevent it happening again. As a moderator it’s frustrating when something is posted that  you cannot remove of prevent , we don’t have the permissions to access the gallery and remove them , even if pornography is posted we are helpless . Some have said in the past that we should be able to but it’s a difficult situation as sometimes it’s artistic other due to the fine line its interpreted as rude or inappropriate etc . What is frustrating is someone who has a very high morality level makings a complaint or several over simple words or wording, Morse so when they are looking back into the forum and bringing up historical threads . Unfortunately a Norrette mentions also singling out certain individuals, this is bordering on  harassment and abusing the persons rights in my book , plus it stops us from doing what we want to do as we are distracted while checking out these  comments.
I see it as mindless vandalism, infesting our gallery with their junk.  I don't 'get' how people can freely advertise counterfeit money like this without the police crawling all over them.
Agree Lew, it’s beyond belief! This thread was started by Norrette in response to numerous complaints made by a relative newcomer to the site, I won’t mention her name as yet, but I will do if she persists. Unless you’re a moderator, you won’t be aware of these complaints, because we’re the only ones that can see them. Trivial stuff in the main, nothing of substance, and it has to stop. We’re busy enough as it is with genuine issues such as we’re seeing today. I’ve personally cleared out several dozen spam posts during the night! As an example, this person complained that my comment to a thread, which I spoke about portrait painting was not relevant to the original thread! Can you believe it… most of the threads diversify and often go off at a tangent! I’m not putting up with it, it has to stop!
Totally agree Alan we were bombarded with reports from one source !  May be that Perón now realises that it’s unacceptable behaviour.
All I can say is thank you to the moderators, who have to wade through all this dross.🙏
