Having just received an email about this, can I just say that I think it is a bad mistake for Painters Online to be putting out coronation specials. Why alienate a large proportion of the readership and for what end? Do we really need reminding of this event and having it thrust down our throats at every opportunity? I know some will have monarchist sympathies but many of us do not. Whether we are citizens or subjects/serfsis a political issue (especially evident on a day when people are getting arrested for exercising their right to protest) and Painters Online should not be getting involved, in my opinion. Just stick to painting!

Historical events have been chronicled since records began. A Coronation special is a good idea for people wanting to take part if they wish. If not, they can ignore the article. Luckily, we have freedom of choice. You couldn't possibly know it would alienate a large proportion of readership unless you had psychic, telepathic or super human powers to that of the likes of Rasputin. I watched it as history in the making is an interesting spectacle.

It matters not if your a fan of royalty or anti royalty, all POL were doing was the same as any other company in the current climate trying to make money . I don’t hold that against them others are doing is so why not POL, There is and was no intention of forcing it on us. I do agree unusual getting the email , but all we have to do is ignore it . Not sure that a large proportion of readers will have objected , most watched it as part of history.
