I am interested in collecting old copies of The Artist magazine, I believe the first editions were in the early 30s?
I have seen some on a popular online auction site but they appear to be US publications, they have a very generic cover which just says "The Artist"and they're priced in US cents.
I'm assuming this was a totally different publication to the English magazine that we're all familiar with?
Any other information on back issues greatly appreciated.

Yes, The Artist magazine celebrated its 90th year of publication in 2021.
They have lots of back issues available to purchase, but it’s unlikely that they’ll go back that far.
The online editor, Dawn Farley will be back on the 4th, I expect that she’ll read this and point you in the right direction -

I uploaded a page turner of the first ever issue to celebrate the 90th anniversary last year - you can find it here https://www.painters-online.co.uk/the-artist-march-1931 You do find the magazines for sale on Ebay and places from time to time, but our back issues for sale don't go back very far I'm afraid. We have a complete collection for our records of course.

I've been saving articles from the archives to our Studio Wall here https://www.painters-online.co.uk/studio-wall/painters-onlinet/1261/ Some of them may be of interest!
