I would like to say thank you. I was thinking today as I was finishing my painting of just how happy I am feeling,  and basically it's down to me joining PoL, and all of you that have interacted with me . I was nervous about joining but I've had nothing but kindness, support and a feeling of I actually belong to something where people a nice. So I would like to say thank you to you all and especially Paul, Robert and Sylvia for their help in guiding me around the site, taking down when I post twice and answering my questions. You've all made me feel confident and I feel an artist, whereas a month ago I was just someone who sketched away with no purpose. I feel I know you all and its fabulous. This platform has become a very important part of my life....now I'm gushing. Julie x
I nearly forgot Alan, sorry about that. You helped me a lot.
Gush away!  Thanks are always appreciated - we do try to help; I think this site is a valuable adjunct to the magazines, because you can get instant answers from people who know what they're talking about (and if we don't, we take steps to find out before answering).  And we're not bound to promoting products, either - which is an issue with many forums of art advice (not that there are that many).  Still, we'll recommend those products we think postive developments, without having shares in the companies or any need to be aware of advertisers' requirements.   A site to be wary of is Wet Canvas - meant well, turned into a huge undertaking, is crammed with some of the worst advice I've ever seen anywhere: it can happen - I hope it never happens to this site: I have more faith in the magazine's owners to fear that it will.
Back in the day I went on social media sites, but found them uncomfortable. Always someone nasty. I tried forums for fibromyalgia and they were just depressing and grim. So never went on any again. I hadn't thought about an art platform until moaning to my daughter that I live in an art backwater. I love where I live, but miss the art community of Brighton. So when she suggested PoL, I decided I would go for it. Believe me it's been transforming for me and I can't imagine me not being a member now forever.  As for the thank you......People do not thank people enough for kindness and help. I'm so grateful, it's made a huge impact on my life and my art.
Very sincere compliments Julie, and gratefully received I’m sure. In all honesty, it was better when we had a dedicated online editor, but that changed a few months ago with her sudden and unexpected departure - let’s just say that it was more personal with someone at the helm, but that is unlikely to happen again. Nonetheless, the team at Warner’s have sorted out many issues that I’ve had, and in an efficient and timely manner, for which I’m grateful! As a reminder to everyone, if you do encounter an issue that the moderators are unable to resolve, the contact address is: [email protected]
Knowing it’s a help to you and hopefully others makes it worth posting advice, work in progress and just general  chatting.  As artists we all work in isolation to some degree in that we are in a studio or alone out in the fresh air , so having something like the forum is helpful and reminds us we are not the only ones in artistic terms that is . Don’t think it’s all nice and sweet we have had issues from time to time and dealt with them as a group, fortunately we have a very fair minded group of moderators who do keep and eye on thing . Your thanks are appreciated, our reward will be your continuing membership and seeing some of your artwork in the gallery from time to time .
I echo everything you say here Julie. The art group I used to belong to didn't re-start after Covid, and POL filled the gap for me.  It feels so good to be part of an online community of like-minded people.
Well Alan, I'm glad I missed all those changes and ended up as is. Always difficult those sort of transitions when people leave a post suddenly. With that in mind, and not knowing the back story before I think you all do a great job. Plus I hopefully won't be so needy now lol. Paul,  I do understand all groups have their not so sweet element, but I saw first hand how you all dealt with cocaine man very quickly and professionally.  I was impressed.  The forum is very helpful, even just reading what other arty souls are up to, and the gallery has brought me great joy. When I'm in my little art room I actually don't feel lonely. Listening to radio etc. It was the lack of input from other artists. Glastonbury is quite a transient town. Groups don't last. The art consists mainly of goddesses and Glastonbury tor. The gallery has depth.
Well Julie I am wearing a halo today …I know I once tried wet canvas and couldn’t get on with it.  yes POL is a lovely site and lovely people but as Paul says we do have hiccups on occasion. Might I suggest you have a look at Paul’s May challenge and have a go at the moment there are few regulars producing anything. Have a lovely day.
Lovely words Julie and I didn't know anything about art until I joined the site. Everyone is helpful and willing to share their knowledge. It's great to feel part of a community and I know look upon people here as friends.
Me too Denise. I feel I know everyone,  it's strange but awfully satisfying.  Goodness Sylvia, what's wet canvas.  Sound very scary to us urban pen and ink scribblers!  I will probably start the monthly challenges next month.

Sylvia, just realised Wet Canvas was what Robert mentioned duh! Mind you still doesn't sound like a good thing.
