Many of you will have already had an inkling that Dawn has been absent from proceedings and admin duties for several weeks now.
I can confirm that Dawn has left Warners.
The editor assures me that she is fine, but things move on in life as we know, and so we start a new chapter. This will come as sad news to many of us, but no further information is being released at the moment, so please don’t speculate!
I’m sure that you’ll all join me in wishing her every success for the future!
Thank you

I don't of course know the background details, and won't speculate - but Dawn was the long-suffering person who managed the Forum from its outset, dealt with all the challenges that difficult people posed, had excellent judgement, and responded to each and every request to help manage the websites' (plural: there's been more than one of them) multitudinous eccentricities and peculiarities. It's said that no single person is indispensable to an organization or company: perhaps not, but individuals can set the tone and provide the stability which make things work.
I worked with Dawn to establish a system of member moderation - that itself went through some challenges and changes, but in the end has worked well, with people involved who know their job, its limits, and have been extremely effective. I'm sad that she seems to have left the company, and I think we should be given the opportunity to say goodbye to her properly.

Ah, this is sad news. It was lovely to meet Dawn (and the team) at Patchings.
I suspected there may be changes afoot after seeing an ad for the two magazines becoming one.
Good luck Dawn in whatever comes next for you, and thank you so much for your enthusiasm, encouragement, and running a great magazine.
