Not particularly strange, because he didn’t paint copies, it’s a print - just look how flat the image is, zero texture to the surface, that’s on screen without examining it but I don’t need to. It’s a print taken from an original painted by a reasonably competent amateur hand, nothing more, nothing less - value I’d estimate at between £3 to £8 at auction, providing the frame was decent… not that you’ve asked for a valuation of course! Thanks Alan for your information ! You are right in that I wasn’t looking for a valuation … just more info !!! I looked on the back, bottom left , where it was slightly broken and frayed and found … ‘No 2217 printed there! Wow.. I didn’t realise they had the ability to colour copy in those days .. Pre whatever , 1920’s. ish! £3.00 value .. I wouldn’t sell it When I was small ,70+years ago,I use to lie in bed imagining myself playing around that boat ? … it has all my memories there . Thank you Alan. Rgds Phil
