10 years to finish a painting!!! That must be some kind of record Gillian. Worth the wait though, very decorative...Like itI started the painting but struggled with it as I had only been painting since 2011 and I had bitten more off than I could chew so I put it aside then found it by chance earlier this year and since I am more proficient I set to and Finished it.

I've also got a painting I started years ago, and have never finished because it's aching for something extra to be added, and yet I don't know even now what that something is. It's an acrylic, so it can wait a while; well, it HAS waited a while - at least 7 years, possibly longer. My usual answer to an unfinished scene is to bung a tree in - but there weren't any trees to be bunged, in the actual place. Tell you what Gillian - I'll send it to you, and YOU can finish it, given you're used to a long wait!

Strange… a lot of us have unfinished paintings….a feeling that something is missing, a focus I suppose. I too have one, a beach/ seascape which has been hanging in my “ art” room for a few years. I keep looking at it and visualising how I’ll change it - radically or otherwise. I’m on the verge of starting.

A few years ago, my daughter was in Africa and she brought me some pictures. When I saw this challenge, I looked it up and this is the result: a 20 min. sketch. I started immediately in ink with my ArtPen, filled with Quick Ink. I know it is a bit late in the month, but for some time, I lost a bit interest in painting and drawing. My hubby "forced" me to draw it before it was too late, so this is the result. Now that I started, maybe this is a new beginning? Hope you like it :) Mia
