Hi All - slipped up by missing adding a new challenge for October! Looks as though a great theme for November is remembering - doesn't have to be related to Remebrance Day but I'm sure many will be.
Thanks I will add the challenge inset myself to this thread as remembrance fits it nicely.
Yes! Remembering my Dad...
That’s a superb tribute to your dad Skylar .
We will remember them
A strong image Skylar. Yes! indeed. I've been viewing the series broadcast many years ago, 'We'll meet again' of loves made and lost. A very poignant reminder . . . An ethereal painting, Mia.

This year for Remembrance Day I decided to do something different and took the theme of a convoy heading towards Malta passing the Rock of Gibraltar. I chose this as it  brings together all three military services and the civilian seamen who manned the ship taking food , fuel and supplies to the people of Malta . It also brings to mind that the people of Malta  had a rough time and many lives were lost whilst Gibraltar became a static battle ship that supported the Arm, Navy and Airforce. I wanted thee painting show the convoy without giving to much detail to the ships and aircraft just simply get the story across. I will get a better photo before posting it on the Gallery tomorrow the Eleventh of the Eleventh Remembrance Day.

I really liked the idea of your remembrance tribute for this year Paul when you mentioned what you were planning on in an earlier post. You’ve done a marvellous collaboration of the services and their role in your painting, I look forward to seeing it on the gallery. I’ve taken your lead and used HMS Malaya and her role in the N. Atlantic, Malta and E. Mediterranean convoys during conflict.
I hope I'm not off topic? My memory of this picture is that there was no internet (for the general public) back then, that I was still working in the hospital and wasn't very happy... and that I was still quite young back then... If I'm off topic, I'll delete the post again...
No Tanja your fine don’t remove it it’s lovely bright and cheerful.nthe theme is Remembrance and some of us used it as a tribute to this who have given their lives for our freedom . I will do something else during the month on the  general theme of remembering and memories.
Thanks Fiona I’m looking foreword to seeing what you do.
I decided to do a sketch of Noor Inayat Khan. Code name Madeleine. Worked in the Women's Auxiliary Air Force. She was tortured and executed during WWII.
