Don't know, but if Dawn & Co have tired of it, or have just not been able to think up any more challenges - which I doubt: their ingenuity is ever fruitful - we could always think up challenges for ourselves.
But let us give them a day or two. I'd rather like to have a challenge involving different media - that would inevitably exclude some people for one month at least, which is probably why it's not been done; but, the sheer expense of it being yet another complication if people don't have the materials, it might be interesting to encourage people to try a medium in which they're not confident: say pastel, oil, acrylic, watercolour, pen and ink, pen and wash, carbon pencil and charcoal pencil and conté, willow charcoal, Chinese ink; the list of possibilities is, if not endless, then extensive. Adding coloured pencil, gouache: the only thing I don't have among that lot is willow charcoal, and it's time I got some - so this would be a good basis for making up our Christmas list, too... (Imagine the conversation at home, for those of us with partners and relatives - "how do you expect me to compete in the monthly challenge if you won't even buy me a nice box of pastels?" - I always say, when push comes to shove, you can't beat a bit of moral blackmail..)
If this post doesn't make any sense, it's because I'm up at 5am thanks to an arthritic hip and a bed as yielding as concrete, which I'm in the process of replacing: however, getting up early did enable me to thwart a spam attack, so - everything has its compensations. Well, nearly everything.

I set myself a challenge to be competed by 11 November I have to complete a painting for Remembrance Day. As an Ex Serviceman and War Pensioner to boot I want to mark the day every year . I have normally done Poppies or something along those lines but this time I'm looking at a full painting of a Convoy in the Mediterranean heading to Malta, i chose this subject as it it includes all three services and civilian seamen .Its a tribute to all those who gave everything including the brave people of Malta. if anyone wants to join in i will open a thread just for the purpose but the work need not to be completed till two weeks time to give everyone the opportunity to come up with the theme etc.
