One of my favourite modern painters, Kyffin Williams - would love to own one of his pictures. I can't claim to be Welsh, but I have Welsh connections - to the Welsh mining industry, particularly in the south of the country: so his paintings bring a taste of the country my ancestors had to leave (nothing they did, I don't think! Just the need to make some money in less hazardous industries).

I just can't paint trees.. have painted two in my life. ( I think it's more down to not having the patience!) I'd say my 'go to' subjects are animals (cows mainly, as we have several farms in our village, and cats and dogs), plus shiny things (sections of musical instruments).
Since joining this site though, I've decided I need to branch out (forgive the pun), so last friday, whilst my car was being fixed, I wandered around Newark with my camera, along the river/canal paths and around the castle & grounds. I had a lovely morning, and found places I never knew existed.( only lived here 12 years... !)
