Oh yes, Tessa, of course, a definite favourite of mine - powerful representations superbly drawn.
One of my favourite modern painters, Kyffin Williams - would love to own one of his pictures.  I can't claim to be Welsh, but I have Welsh connections - to the Welsh mining industry, particularly in the south of the country: so his paintings bring a taste of the country my ancestors had to leave (nothing they did, I don't think!  Just the need to make some money in less hazardous industries).
So agree Robert ...Kyffins paintings are wonderful though we claim him here in the north.  He actually lived on Anglesey not far from Llanfair PG......the one with the longest name.   I thought you might have a touch of the Taff about you , Jones is even more common than Evans .
My go-to is cars - has been since I was a nipper. I’ve been a petrolhead for as long as I can remember and have drawings from when I was five! Another that came to me later in life was trainers, which may sound a bit strange but it’s another passion of mine, and is surprisingly popular.
Now Ant I could have written that for you....lol.

Seas, mountains and lakes for me, but I'm still working on my trees. I'm branching out. I also find I'm partial to the odd snow scene. If I had to pick one I'd be hard pushed, with seas just about winning the day.
I just can't paint trees.. have painted two in my life. ( I think it's more down to not having the patience!) I'd say my 'go to' subjects are animals (cows mainly, as we have several farms in our village, and cats and dogs), plus shiny things (sections of musical instruments).  Since joining this site though, I've decided I need to branch out (forgive the pun), so last friday, whilst my car was being fixed, I wandered around Newark with my camera, along the river/canal paths and around the castle & grounds. I  had a lovely morning, and found places I never knew existed.( only lived here 12 years... !)

I know Sylvia, I know - I’m such a one trick pony lol. Part of the reason I started painting trainers was that everyone took the mick out of me for always painting cars!
