Tempting, Derek - tempting providence. Ie, in saying that all may now be well, I was inviting the evil gremlins to begin their fell work anew. But I really believe they can't, at least not en masse, because Dawn has found out how to stop them in their tracks. Transports of glee and delight here, because while clobbering a couple of pests now and then is quite enjoyable, taking on a legion of them really isn't.
So far as nuisance calls is concerned, and here I really don't want to tempt providence, because they have become a serious menace, I have found that I can programme my cordless phone to go immediately to the answerphone after just half a ring, and this has so far deterred 95% of them. You find in me a new fan of technology - if only it would work on my hip, all would be well: but I fear more brutal and invasive methods are called for there, from which, being heroic, I naturally shrink.
