Paul, John Blockley is also a firm favourite of mine, as is Ann Blockley.  There are so many favourites to choose from - my first choice (Roger Dean) was an artist whose work I grew up with and loved from my schooldays. (I’ve emailed you with a change of artist for tonight’s Inspirations thread - sorry for the short notice.)

I picked up your message Jenny and will make the change. Anne Blockley is a superb artist, we covered both in inspiration thread , we cover most of the well known artists since the beginning of the thread.
'Gassed,' what a painting!
Yes, this is an impossible choice! I admire so many of those already mentioned! One of my favourite landscape painters is Isaac Levitan.
I’ve heard of him Diane but will look him up again.
Died so young…and, as was common then, a very hard life. His paintings are lovely and described as “ mood” paintings. A famous one, “ Autumn”

Isaac Levitan is a new name for me but I was curious to look him up.   I can see why he is one of Diane's favourites.

People have posted paintings by people I've never heard of and they are all wonderful, it' been a real pleasure seeing them. I'm not changing my mind though!
No need to change your mind , it’s good to see what other people like and as you know we learn so much from each other on the forum. I wasn’t sure what sort of response this thread would get, the response has been amazing and so encouraging, thanks to everyone for taking part. If you have anymore artist to add please do so .  Can I also ask for names to add to the inspiration thread, if you don’t want to do an introduction just let me have the names and let me know what you want me to do ( polite suggestion only ).
That’s a gorgeous one Tony.
Just for information, there is a Youtube channel called Learn from the masters. It is basically a lot of slideshows of different painters' works. I immerse myself in them from time to time. There are hundreds of paintings to enjoy.
