Yeah, so it seems to be mixed media then. It's not really something I'd enjoy creating or owning, but I've seen paintings that I disliked more than this one. It's not that bad.
I'd have guessed at acrylic, but there might be other elements - I was in an arthritic bad temper when I first commented, I've tried taking a further look ... and while I'm not quite so cross with it, I still think that if you're going to offer something for sale, you ought to take a bit more trouble in creating it - if you're only doing it for fun, well anything goes - I do get (probably unreasonably) cross when I see stuff selling that required hardly any effort, when good painters can have trouble shifting anything....  Needless to say, there is no hint of the green-eyed god in this......
There is with me Robert!
Summat to do with marketing...
Depends on what set of rules you are judging it against Peter. As a representational accurate painting of a woman in a hat it leaves a lot to be desired. As a piece of modern art, it serves its purpose and generates some emotion, and in your case a strongly negative one.  Personally I like it, but I wouldn’t give money or give it wall space. But then I’ve said the same about Ben Nicholson and some of David Hockney’s work and what  a fool I’d be to not have them in my collection, if only for financial reasons.

I went through your posts in here, and I dislike this type of "art". In general I think of it as an art, the same way, that those ancient human beings were making marks inside the caves, etc. - but... I don't understand how could I try to make a profit on it... I just can't see much of effort to make it, and the way it's painted... no comments. I went through similar arts painted by a member (artist) of the other forum in past. He paid no attention to proportion, weird people he painted were in orange sort off colour, usually flat 2D painted, also most of them were smoking cigarettes? So let say 19 out of 20 paintings were showing smoking people... I didn't understand this, how come? But at the same time I did respect him. I mean, I don't know who it was, what he went through etc., and those weird paintings may hold him to the life, and it might keep him going? I felt I have no rights to judge his artwork as badly as I can see it... So I've politely had said few positive words, complimenting the style (lol), as all these paintings were very similar, showing smoking orange skin people... He responded to me - keep going, after years of practice you'll develop your own style too ;) Well. I remember one other artist?, advertising on Facebook - heads of horses - this is what she's been painting and selling, giving promotions, discounts, and last chance to own it, etc... Just imagine the shape of the horse's head and neck, flat painted (2D) on larger canvas, filled up with colours ... So if this is an art, worth to sell... But who I am to judge it ;) HAPPY NEW 2023 YEAR TO EVERYBODY !!!
A Happy New year to you and your family also. I keep looking at this and I do really like the mixed media aspect of it. It's something I may hang on my wall if I came across it, I guess.

The more I look, the more I like it!  I’ve extended it by using my thumb and finger to see more details. It’s certainly ‘outside the box’, which I tend to like, the colours are bold too. I think I could live with it on my wall…!

Well my sister would be pleased to hear these comments! Maybe she's got a better eye than I have.  Peter
