Tessa...a word on mousies...please don't kill them.  You can get humane traps...a bit of chocolate in the far end.  Collect the little sweethearts in their trap enjoying their chocolate.  Take for a car ride or along walk...check that there isn't a Kitty on the prowl, empty them out...Take  care they  don't try and climb up your leg... then either run away or leg it to your car and drive off in a screech of brakes .I've taken mine on trips all over the place even to the seaside, I was a tad wary of the seagulls.   Another tip.  They don't like wire wool.  Stuff their entry points with it..

Thanks for the advice ladies! I will try the Olbas Oil….🤞
Please get a humane trap and wire wool.   Or a cat
Thanks very much ladies and gents. I have read your replies very carefully and they have been very helpful for me while I have been considering the thought. I think what I might do, is paint one occasionally, here and there, when I feel like it, so not to put myself under great amounts of pressure from the fear of boredom doing the same thing over and over again. I don't want to be clogged up with work for other people that will impinge on my ability to continue to learn and continue to develop the way I wish. Another reason why I will do them occasionally is because I will get the chance to paint from live studies, which will be a good experience. Thanks for taking the time and giving your thoughts on the matter.
Sounds a good compromise Denise ,well thought through.AND  you have learned all about getting rid of mice u as well.
Sounds good to me.
Good that you have worked it to fit  around your needs and not getting swamped down with it , sounds a great compromise to me at the end of the day you need to be content and happy .
It's always handy to know how to deal with mice, although I actually like them,  wouldn't want them running about my house. Humane traps every time for any critter.
Once upon a time, mice in the house weren't a huge problem - provided you covered your foodstuffs, and disposed of your left-overs.  Now, we have electric wires - and they can be lethally destructive.  I've tried the humane route, but I can't take them far enough away from here to prevent their coming back: so I'm afraid my sympathies have waned to the point of disappearance, and they have to go by whatever means it takes to remove them. New Year, new me: savage, brutal, murderous.  But do remember: I didn't invite them in.  And I will not be prevented from sleeping by scuttling, widdling, nibbling little horrors - sentiment has given way to reality.
I do think if it is an issue of safety, then you have to use whatever measures are necessary.
Thank 'ee kindly!  Yes; there are also issues of hygiene and one's own health: I hate to kill anything, I used to keep (domesticated - well; rather loosely at times) - rats: rats are at least not incontinent - but the wild ones present rather more destructive issues.  As critters, mice and rats are adaptable, intelligent, deft - little paws, whiskers - not deliberately wicked, aggressive etc. But - having been through this last year, I just can't face going through it again: once they're in they breed, they colonize, they widdle on everything, the keep you awake at night, I even had a couple of them running over headboard of my bed in the middle of the night: sad, but they must move out or die.  I'm struggling to find the connection between meeces and art matters - sure there is one.....  Do mice paint?  I might take a different view of them if they did.
I don't think they paint but they wear clogs, that's a fact.
