I haven’t done any painting over the last week due to the intense heat other than putting a background wash on a tree painting that was di e very wet in wet . What I have done is take more notice of what I’m painting and decided to put some aside for now, all different subjects thst I was going from one to the other but not really doing much. Decided to be a bit more disciplined and organised doing a series will get me focusing on what I’m doing more and give me the incentive to get on with them . I chose Thames tugs as my theme as I love drawing and painting these superb working boats , not only the big steam tugs that tow ships around but also the small diesel engines one used mainly for towing barges .
I want to include scenes from the old London docks and along the Thames , the starting one is of a diesel tug with barge in tow passing through Limehouse, set in the early 1930 - 1945 . I won’t show the whole WIP here but thought it firvinto the discussion on painting a series.
