I know this has been mentioned before, however the advertising on POL is becoming overbearing, we are smothered with it. Okay yes i understand it’s a free site and I very much appreciate it but for myself I would sooner pay for no advertising. It’s becoming an over kill with adverts in my opinion.
Which browser do you use John? I use a Firefox browser.  If there are any adverts, I don't notice them.
I am on Apple Safari.
I’m on Safari through Apple also, and I’ve not noticed any advertising _ most strange! I do occasionally mess about with settings, so perhaps I’ve managed to block them…
Thank you Alan, but I seem to be plagued by it. I will check things out.
I use Google Chrome, on a pc - as I have plenty of screen space, I can overlook the ads; the site looks very different on an Ipad, I've noticed (as do most).  As I know  John understands, it's the ads that really pay for the site - and as the site owners will understand, too many ads means fewer users, and thus bang goes the ad revenue over the course of time... I know this isn't helpful - all you can do is either buy a desktop pc (which I've recently had to do when the old one died; not a pain-free experience), with a good, wide monitor, or install an Adblock - I don't know if they work with Apple Safari, but presume they do.  I don't use Adblock anymore - and always  had it paused on this site, because I was aware  that if we all used it, that would kill off the revenue.  It's a problem - no foolproof solution.  All I can say is that I've managed to screen out the ads in my own  head  and hardly notice them anymore; so - it can be done, and really needs to be, because all websites are pulling in more advertisements, even some which I pay for.  Such is the world of commerce.
I’m also using Safari on my Apple iPad and although the adds are there, they don’t bother me - like Robert, I manage to screen them out in my head and don’t really notice them.

Thank you Robert for your input. It all a question of balance. I do have a desktop computer but use that as a TV screen, nice and big. The  iPad is my usual go to these days.
I don't get any ads on my android phone...
That’s interesting I have just checked and I do not get any on my iPhone. It’s iPads under attack👎
I’m using my iPhone John… not a single advert…
I’m not had any problems with ads John, could it be the settings on he iPad , always with a check to see .
