Classic FM, Rolling Stones, Dire Straits, Pink Floyd, Queen or maybe some operatic arias. Sometimes though I need to paint in relative silence.
I usually paint in silence. If I do listen to music it would usually be classical music, especially Minimalism, which is often deeply relaxing and can assist the artistic process. If anyone wants to try some Minimalism, I recommend Common Tones in Simple Time (John Adams), The Hours (Philip Glass) or Music for Winds, Strings and Keyboards (Steve Reich).
I have a huge collection of Classical Music and love Opera as Well Fiona...  Luv the Stones and Dire Straits Too..  Deep Purple Also... Queen, Big Fan... I would also recommend the entire soundtrack to Conan the Barbarian by Basil Polidorus, All the Elvish Stuff from Lord Of The Rings by Howard Shore,  Overture Lore from The Ps4 Game The Last Guardian, And several songs from The Movie Gods Of Egypt.. Hathor's Bedroom, Hathor's Theme, Wings and a Prayer, Bek and Zaya's Theme,... All Awesome while you paint...   Lily's theme from Harry Potter Is also haunting and great... Anything Inspirational and Soul Stirring....   I like Choral voices...
Quiet and calm for me, I like to be able to think😁 Painting and decorating…now that’s another matter - loud Rock does it.
I tend to be quiet however I love music and have a very eclectic taste!! I used to sing with a band years ago , been in musicals (am dram). Now in a rock choir. So I don’t know why I don’t play music when I paint!
