I haven't removed that many, but around a dozen - if you add that little lot up, you wonder how Phil and I, and then just I, managed in the past! Thank goodness for other moderators - and certainly MY undying thanks.
One thing about the drugs - Paul expressed the doubt that these were genuine drugs; and of course I don't know, and am not inclined to find out. But it's ironic - my own painkilling drug, DF118 aka dihydrocodeine, often runs out of stock, and has at the moment (fortunately, I had a secret stash, but that won't last forever). If these ARE genuine drugs, I wonder at the effect they might be having on legitimate sources of supply - if they're fake, obviously none; if they're genuine - where are they getting them from? Is it at the expense of proper, licensed pharmacies?
Either way - anyone buying drugs from these characters is risking their lives: it's obvious, I hope, that you can't know about their strength or purity, what might be mixed with them: it's criminal activity, and while I strongly believe no one here would be foolish enough to take advantage of them, even in desperation (as I will be, if I can't get mine, because I'll be hauling myself around like a sack of potatoes) I'd still say: don't! Whatever you do, don't. The danger they represent is all the more reason to get them off this site before anyone sees them who might be vulnerable to them: as some must be, or it wouldn't be worth their while to infest sites like this.

I think the majority of the spam regarding drugs is for want of a better word street drugs , however there are some that offer what I would call medication type drug but I’d be very cautious of them . There is the occasional online pharmacy selling many drugs at discount prices and I suspect they are affecting genuine supply’s but how do yo know iv they are selling quality and legitimate products. My answer to that would be don’t even try them to find out and we will just bin and ban where we see them advertised on this site .

Happy to help out with this moderation but I think the only way to stop it is to:
a)Report the email account to the email provider...can do this via nominet or other registration sites. ISPs are usually good at closing accounts.
and/or
b)change the registration/posting regime. On Facebook it can be set that the very first post has to be approved before any others. That first approval can be delayed as long as you wish.
Most of these are spam farms. The users aren't the sellers, they are bunches of people or bots paid a penny or so for every post they make. Then the drug hustlers pay the spam farms.

Just removed another bunch - among them are prescription drugs, indeed most of them are: the snag is that they're being posted in multiple languages - so around 15 to 20 per pop. It would be easier if we could just say 'ban all posts from Fred Bloggs', but that option isn't available (yet?) and we have to squish them one by one.
Still - something to do while my chicken is roasting, I suppose!
It's not always possible to tell what network provider is hosting these things, they can conceal that to cursory examination: maybe Inspect the email would yield the information, I'll try that next time (confident there'll BE a next time). Norette, if you would like to join our select group of moderators, approach Dawn.

I don’t want to keep banging on about spam, it isn’t an interesting topic, but I’ve shifted a steady stream of the pests throughout the night!
Probably in excess of 30 at a guess… a mix of several topics but mostly drug related.
If Norette wants to join the team of spam eradicators, she would be very welcome… that goes for anyone else, but the decision will be down to Dawn of course!

Unfortunately they get paid to do it and have good equipment to multi post , we unfortunately only have our fingers to press Delete and Ban but it’s very satisfying non the less.
You do get a bit fed up and overwhelmed when there are fifty or more posts to shift , it’s a real treat if you catch one as they have just posted it .
But it’s easy to change names and repost again especially with their software som I believe are posted by remote systems.
I do wonder if anyone ever replied to them not just on here , they must do as they wouldn’t post if not surely.
