There are a bunch of manipulated photos in the gallery again.  People leaving nice comments must be viewing these with phones. On my 24 inch monitor they are so obvious as to be embarrassing.  Enlarged you can see Jpeg artifacts (little blocks around the edges) from source image in the "painting". It would be funny if it wasn't so sad. I've edited this. I've removed the images from this post. I'll send them to Dawn.  Admin: feel free to delete this post.

I use an ipad and I’m pretty sure I can spot the fakes.
sad people.
I’ve had a quick look on my iMac and you’re absolutely right on that one! Dawn will remove any offending images in the morning I’m sure. They are getting more difficult to spot, but we rely on the posters integrity to give an accurate and honest description of the medium used!

Didn't spot them, though maybe they weren't there when I last looked. Eternal vigilance really does seem to be the answer here, or we end up being taken for fools.  One of our number took me to task a while ago for referring to the "integrity of the site": I was too annoyed with her to respond at the time, my response to things sometimes being a touch short-tempered, but it's just this I meant.  People on the whole post work honestly here: it's an ignorant insult to them to post work which is dishonestly contrived.  (And no, this isn't another dig at digital paintings - which can be just as honestly contrived as any others, so long as we know what they are.)  Pretence is the hateful thing - it's so contemptuous of those who try to present their own work without embellishment and without just tarting up someone else's photographs.
Thanks Collette for pointing this out. I’m using an iPad and have just waded back through eight pages and don’t see anything suspect which obviously bothers me if they are appearing there as genuine. Can you at least say what date they were posted and are they by one person?
I have a strong suspicion about one posted on Dec 1st but have no way of proving it. I’ll wait and see if Dawn removes it.
It is indeed getting harder to tell.  Bur when the 'original' photograph is found, as was shown in Collette's unedited first post, there can be little doubt.
Unfortunately I missed that. Collette was too speedy for me!
After a bit of thought. I decided not to post the images and to put my comment on his photo so if he deleted the photo the comment would be gone. I felt this would give him a chance to do the right thing.
Often the clue is the great transformation in skill from other images the person has posted….google the images and they are obvious. Some of them are images from other artists with a bit of overlay….it’s all a bit sad really. The person you mean Collette has reiterated it’s a digital painting…..
Yes so I see Marjorie. I could start a christmas panto with a reply of "oh no its not"!  Seriously though I thought Dawn was taking them down.
