The words personal preference comes up a lot here. Would you say this is what judging has come down to these days? art is so very, very diverse in our age. When you look at a short list of competition finalist let’s be honest anyone of them could be the winner, they are all so very good, outstanding. The winner in my view just comes up with good fortune on the day. It’s like the old saying. Mirror mirror on the wall who’s the greatest of them all. No one they all are.
I like that programme home is where the art is. it’s great to see art moulded to a need. However I do not feel the artist who gets the commission charges enough for the whopping load of work they put into the commission. Seriously the BBC should chip in. They are making a new series. Looking forward to that.
