They are repeated on sky arts every morning at something like 7am. I have them on series link, as it's way too early for me. They are fantastic apart from the poetic waffle. Some of the art is amazing, and I have found myself researching some of the artists on there. They have gone on to be real, selling artists!! Its fab to see it differently with the use of the internet.

Don't know if you look at Katherine Tyrrell's blog 'Making a Mark'. She gives a good rundown of the competitors and reference to their own websites, etc. There is a lot of other stuff but I find it good for catching up with some of the background.

I really liked all 3 in the final there too, and to be quite honest I wasnt bothered who won, they were all as equally good. So cant wait to see what next week brings.
Have to say I didnt think they paid much attention to this weeks wild cards, I think it was just one of those weeks they wernt bothered. Kate deffo has a lot of say and without her they were flummoxed.

I watched the final of this last night- fascinating late night challenge of painting Battersea power station building in the dark! The three ladies who made it to the final had a good stab at it, though the two who didn’t win, both seemed disappointed in their work on the night. Obviously the timing had quite an impact on them. Not sure I’d fancy painting til after midnight and such a subject!
The winner was best on the night in my mind and backed up big time by her wonderful commission piece completed over I think two weeks before the final. I think part of me missed even a hint of colour in her work but she is undoubtedly very talented and produces some brilliant work. It will be interesting to see the Venice trip.
Anyone else see it?

Agree with your comment on the finalists but also think one or two better candidates didn't make it to the final, but that is personal preference.I agree with you Peter ( and with Tessa ) that there were others who didn't make it to the final who, I thought, merited it. I loved the loose style of the engineer from Yorkshire and the guy with the hat definitely had an extra " something". Personal preference, yes, but I do like colour and texture. I agree, Tessa, that Fujiko was the winner on the night, particularly because of her commission. I

I agree with both of you that there were a few who didn’t make it to the final who would probably have done very well, but that’s the nature of the programme. As you say Marjorie, personal choice, and yes I liked the guy with the hat! I also remember Pawel, his harbour scene and snowscape. No doubt it helps all their careers. They’ve had some particularly challenging scenes to paint this year, and more industrial than usual, which has given the series a different edge. Very enjoyable programme.
