Thought I’d post this for your comment or critique… this is the winning entry as selected by the judging panel… It’s for sale at £3,400 and I don’t doubt for one minute that it will sell… It’s quite a large painting on linen, I’ll give more details on the artist shortly, I’ll have to refer back to Jackson’s. Melanie Berman, Sugar Plum Words, acrylic and ink on linen 70x60cm And she writes: "Creativity is innate to me, shaped by my chromesthesia. This unusual ability allows me to effortlessly tap into a world where colours and forms dance in sync with sounds, providing constant inspiration and clarity." I was going to enter an oil painting, glad I didn’t bother now!
Mmmmmm ah  mmmm is all I can say about it .
You’re having us on Alan……..
Utter nonsense! Both the artwork and the artist’s words…
Think she’s selling the idea. It worked.  Now others will make greater art under that guise.
Is it April ? .
Couldn’t believe her painting was judged the best of over 15,000 entries, so had a look. Apparently it won one of the awards where the judge was looking for ‘authenticity’ and ‘a sense of meaning and storytelling’. The overall winner was a much more traditional oil painting.  (Alan, you should have entered!)

Thanks Jenny, that’s much more to my taste! Jackson’s newsletter that I received today only showcased the one I showed, unless I missed the rest…
I must say Alan, I am void of any emotion or expression upon looking at it or reading any words associated with it. The Andrew Torr painting on the other hand, very nice.
Mistake

It’s a way of painting from the colours of sound. It’s a first or on that same new wave that’s crushing AI. That’s the point! Doesn’t have to be good. Pollock would be full of envy! Not my thing either but I’m not the point. Creativity has a nucleus. The picture is the result of a different way of thinking. If we don’t have new styles then we are all doomed to monochromatic life.  The more the people on the planet, the more the complexity.  This picture is a result of change. A challenge to human thinking that could lead to a better way
