Some of these portraits are just amazing!
Two very fine posts above.   Below...Bladerunner by James Jean. below.. by Sarah Joncas...
I love the one by Javad Soleimanpour that Marjorie put up. Had to look him up. He uses pastels but looking at this there appears to be some brushwork underneath. If anyone finds a video of him working please point me in the right direction. I'd like to see what he's doing.
Collette, from time to time I screen shoot paintings I like. I can’t seem to access any videos of JS, only Instagram which I think is in Farsi andI’m certainly not conversant with that language.
I can’t remember where I came across this one by Mike Malm. Anything which concentrates on light gets my attention. He does quite a lot of backlit studies which I’m drawn to.

Good posts Marjorie. I like this one, by Anthony Connolly...  I also stumbled across this chap...Graham Hurd Wood...he lives in the UK's smallest city (St David's, Pembrokeshire).  He's planning on painting every one of it's citizens...1800 of them...he started 14 years ago, and is about half-way there.  Very small paintings, but even so...quite a task. He likes to display them in groups, about a metre square...

I too like your posts Marjorie but to be honest I could say that about so many others too. Martin posted a piece by Hana Choi a while back which I found  intriguing so I 'looked her up' so to speak.   I like her work very much.
As you say Russell, so many excellent portraits around. A few years ago I watched a Russian artist on youtube - can’t remember his name, I could probably find him again. The sessions were in Russian but you could follow along quite easily.
