I've not been posting too many of late, it's the old story of too much stuff being piled on in multiple postings and frankly I'm getting a bit weary of it. However, I will keep on posting but perhaps just one or maybe two a week. This way I hope to maintain the interest that my work attracts, and I also would like to thank those of you who take the time to comment on my offerings, I do enjoy reading these comments and fortunately they are generally favourable. Michael, I am a big fan of printmaking so I also am interested in looking at your 'etchings'... anyway, I did write a couple of comprehensive articles some time ago for the e-newsletter and gave a WIP demo of both drypoint etching and monoprints, I have a fair few examples lurking amongst my gallery pages should you be so inclined. I do have a couple of presses, a large A3 + and a rather nice A4 from the Netherlands, both of which are superbly engineered and are a real asset if you want to progress your printmaking skills further. I took an interest in printmaking during my college years, mainly acid based techniques which can be dangerous in the home, but that calls for a whole different set of techniques and skills.
As this is one of my favourite websites I try to go on twice a day if possible. I "follow" about 8 or so of my favourite artists, and do comment on most of the paintings which appeal to me. Sometimes it isn't possible to go through all the screens if a lot have been posted. I'm afraid a lot of my comments do fall into the "platitude" category but sometimes I just know that a painting really appeals to me without necessarily being able to analyse. I still feel that it is probably encouraging for an artist to know that someone out there likes their work even if they can't say why. I am always grateful if people take the time to look at mine and comment and always acknowledge the comments. I haven't posted anything recently (have been away) but have just finished one I might put up, although I'm not entirely satisfied with it.
Well I've not painted an emerging toe yet but have just posted another equally dotty one which actually I quite like.
I don't post much, and I don't comment much, because I'm painfully slow at everything at the moment. This afternoon I painted and commented for the first time in a good while!
