I won’t be using him as a bonus artist as I already have the work done for another artist . Best not to tag his stuff on this thread as it will become lost due to a lack of heading .  If people want I will set it up for next weekend and include the information from Martin has posted or alternatively a separate thread can be opened is someone wants to take it on . 
With Sarah, Phil, Ellen, Rose the dentist, and the granddaughter whose name I forget.

I think that image, i.e. the one I posted, MAY have been a Lucian Freud study for a subsequent oil painting, but whoever it was - it wasn't me, and I wish it had been.   It does look a lot like Freud.  Auerbach's story is a fascinating and in some respects horrific one.  Nazism and anti-Semitism are among the world's foullest creeds; and this may be a good time to say that again.

Thanks Jenny! A stunning image albeit not by Frank himself, which I thought it was. I’m pretty sure that my earlier image is by Freud, it’s a well documented one by him… This one is by him…

Thanks Jenny, I thought it was, a fabulous image once again… this is how portraits should be painted (in my view), powerful and expressive mark making, not fiddling around copying from an iPad for 4 hours when you have the model sat in front of you! Tim Benson has taken over the style of Freud to a great extent, but in his own expressive way.  I showcased him on Paul’s long running artists thread, he didn’t get particularly good reviews if I remember correctly… and I have a good memory! Disappointing but not a total surprise… Here’s one from Tim…

Even hundreds of years ago, some famous artists agonised using reflections from mirrors. The sitter would be in front of them obviously. Let those who choose to paint how they will, paint without criticism until the finished product. Some are slower than others, some bang em down like a judges gavel. Tall people and short people are an obvious comparison.  No one is born the same
