That scene looks great Tessa. Alan that pudding, what can I say but, I'll have a slice. I'm doing a bit of doodling tonight. I'm using thick charcoal and really trying to get my fingers in there to do the blending. I've been a bit timid using charcoal but I'm going heavy handed tonight. You should see the colour of my hands.

I know what you mean Denise. I can't help getting my hands dirty when painting in oils. I seem to like blending colours on the canvas with my fingers. I daren't use charcoal as I will be covered in it - probably all over my face too, but Covid discipline is improving this aspect. You can get holders for charcoal, or use charcoal pencils. But I like your boots.

Wow what a lot of great sketches/drawings/ paintings!! Well at long last I have got an offering using crayons, which I rarely use! Denise I get in quite a mess with charcoal and pastels but love the results. Desperate to get stuck into using them when I eventually get into my house once the renovations are complete.

Snow is tricky and definitely not white at least in terms of painting. It always amazes me what different colours appear in snowy paintings but it works. We have a mostly white spaniel but see her in snow and she looks an awful grubby yellow, not good!
Alan I think your Lincoln view is excellent, both drawing and painting. I see nothing wrong in the tones there and if it were mine I wouldn’t want to change it.
Gillian that’s a lovely bee eater and coloured pencils suit it well.
And Denise, your charcoal boots and tanks are super. Whenever I see charcoal I think I’ll have a go, but also don’t like the messiness!
Our weekly group challenge for next week is to be ‘junk’ as in, what we intended to chuck out during lockdown, but I’ve been thinking of what else might be more appealing! Just a sketch at the mo, and might change my mind later.
